New software updates: Apple fixes dangerous security vulnerability

FontParser is a component that handles fonts. According to Apple, there was a risk that processing a maliciously crafted font could cause apps to terminate unexpectedly or corrupt process memory. This was caused by an error writing outside the intended memory range. The issue was resolved through improved range checking. Apple's internal security teams discovered the vulnerability themselves. Since there is no evidence that it has been actively exploited, the actual damage is likely zero. Nevertheless, the vulnerability is considered potentially dangerous.
