Apple has released iOS 26.0.1, the first update for iOS 26. Just a few days after the major release, the company is addressing bugs that primarily affected the new iPhone 17 models. Users complained of unstable Wi-Fi and cellular connections, camera issues, and other bugs that are now being fixed.

The fact that Apple is releasing an update so quickly demonstrates how important the fixes are. The iPhone 17 series was particularly in focus, as several key features were affected. In addition to iOS 26.0.1, iPadOS 26.0.1, watchOS 26.0.1, visionOS 26.0.1, tvOS 26.0.1, and an update for macOS Tahoe are also available. For older devices, Apple has also released iOS 18.7.1.

Bug fixes in iOS 26.0.1

The update focuses on the most pressing issues with the new iPhones.

  • Connection issues: The iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and iPhone 17 Pro models repeatedly experienced Wi-Fi and Bluetooth disconnections under iOS 26. A small number of devices also lost their connection to the cellular network. These issues are said to be resolved with iOS 26.0.1.
  • Camera bug: Photos taken under certain lighting conditions with iPhone 17, iPhone Air, or iPhone 17 Pro could contain unexpected artifacts. Image quality should be reliable again with the new update.
  • Issues with icons and VoiceOver: App icons could appear blank after adding a custom tint. Additionally, VoiceOver was disabled on some devices after updating to iOS 26. Both issues have been resolved, according to Apple.

iPadOS 26.0.1 with further fixes

In addition to the same VoiceOver fix as on the iPhone, iPadOS 26.0.1 also fixes an additional bug. The floating keyboard's position could change unexpectedly, which should no longer happen.

Further updates for Apple systems

Apple has released updates for several platforms simultaneously. watchOS 26.0.1, visionOS 26.0.1, and tvOS 26.0.1 are now available for download and include bug fixes and important security updates. Version 26.0.1 also features new software for the HomePod.

macOS Tahoe 26.0.1

macOS Tahoe 26.0.1 has been released for Mac users. The update fixes a specific issue on Mac Studio with an M3 Ultra. A faulty hardware check prevented the installation of macOS Tahoe, leaving users stuck on macOS Sequoia. With the new version, the upgrade should now run smoothly.

Safety and further information

As with every update, Apple has also included security-related fixes in iOS 26.0.1. Details on all closed security vulnerabilities are documented on Apple's official support page: Apple Security Updates.

More stability and security with iOS 26.0.1 & Co.

With iOS 26.0.1, Apple is responding quickly to the issues that arose after the release of iOS 26. iPhone 17 owners, in particular, benefit from more stable connections, a reliable camera, and functioning VoiceOver. iPadOS 26.0.1, along with the parallel updates for watchOS, visionOS, tvOS, HomePod, and macOS, also ensure greater stability and security across the entire Apple ecosystem.
