A noise cancellation feature that affects phone calls is not yet available on the iPhone 13. According to a new report, Apple Support now also seems to believe that the removal of the option from the Settings app is a permanent change.
Apple regularly highlights the noise cancellation in its AirPods Pro. It seems that while the iPhone has a similar feature built in for regular phone calls, not all users can enable it. Noise Cancellation for Phones, found in the Settings app under "Accessibility" and then "Audio/Visual," is designed to reduce ambient noise during phone calls when you hold the phone to your ear. While the switch to enable or disable noise cancellation for phone calls is available on many iPhone models, it simply isn't there on the iPhone 13. Loud A 9to5Mac reader who contacted Apple Support reported that the feature is not supported on the iPhone 13. Apple Support explicitly states that the feature is not available on the iPhone 13. When asked, Apple Support replied, "It is not supported," and asked users to use Apple's feedback page to voice their concerns.

However, the first reports citing Apple support said it was a bug. This statement is still documented in various forums to this day. It therefore remains unclear who is actually right. Apple's development team itself has not yet commented on the matter. However, since the feature is still available on older iPhone generations, including the iPhone 8, we still believe it is a bug that only affects the iPhone 13 series. After all, the feature is quite useful and apart from that, the current iPhone generation has all the microphones and other elements necessary for the function, as well as enough integrated processing power to actually use them.
