It has happened again. Only yesterday, exclusive recordings from iOS 13 – now pictures of the music and TV applications under macOS 10.15 have been published.
It seems to be becoming a tradition in Cupertino that important products in the software and hardware sectors are revealed before the official release. The next major version of macOS is expected to be presented alongside iOS, watchOS and tvOS next week at Apple's World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC 2019). After an unknown source sent the US platform 9to5mac exclusive images of the long-awaited Dark Mode and Co. under iOS 13, macOS 10.15 is now due. According to the guys from 9to5mac, the same insider has provided further images. The two screenshots show the new music and TV applications under macOS 10.15. As previously reported, the new music app is based on iTunes. Both the music and TV apps are delivered in the same design. Both applications have a gray sidebar that lists different areas. On the right-hand side there is a large area that is supposed to contain the actual content. The screenshots also show that the colorful sidebar icons are making a return in macOS 10.15.
Music under macOS 10.15
The Music app on macOS 10.15 retains the ability to sync a user's devices such as iPhone, iPad or iPod - these are displayed in the sidebar like in iTunes. The search bar was moved to the sidebar during the redesign, which contains both Apple Music categories and the user's local music library.
TV app under macOS 10.15
The new TV app in macOS 10.15 takes a different approach to separating the user's library from online content. It follows a similar pattern to the new Books app, which is also being updated in macOS 10.15. The TV app uses a toolbar at the top for the "Watch Now," "Movies," "TV Shows," "Kids," and "Library" sections. Each section has its own sidebar with content categories.
This year's WWDC 2019 (World Wide Developer Conference) will open on June 3rd at 7:00 p.m. CET in the McEnery Convention Center, San Jose. The world-famous developer conference will be held for the 30th time in a row and will end on June 7th. In addition to macOS 10.15, iOS 13, watchOS 6 and tvOS 13 are expected.
