The time has finally come – the wait is over. Apple has now announced that orders for the Mac Pro 2019 and the new Pro Display will begin taking place on December 10th.

Apple sent out a newsletter to interested parties yesterday evening, listing December 10 as the deadline. According to this, orders for the two professional devices can be placed from Tuesday. The starting price for the Mac Pro is around $5,999, while the entry-level price for the monitor is set at around $4,999. The new Mac Pro will be delivered in its basic configuration with an 8-core Intel Xeon processor, 256 GB SSD, 32 GB RAM and more. The powerful computer can manage up to 28 cores and 1.5 TB RAM - the price for the maximum configuration is not yet known. Apple describes the device as follows:

We designed Mac Pro for people who need a modular system with extreme performance, expandability, and configurability. With its powerful Xeon processors, massive memory capacity, breakthrough GPU architecture, PCIe expansion, Afterburner accelerator card, and stunning design, the new Mac Pro is a beast that enables professionals to do their life's work at its best.

Phil Schiller, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing

The XDR display offers an incredible 32-inch resolution of 6016 x 3384 with 1,600 nits peak brightness. The screen is available for $4,999 or in a special version for $5,999. Buyers can also purchase a standard VESA mount for $199. If you want something more, you can get the Pro Stand for $999. This allows you to individually adjust the height of the monitor. Apple has not answered when the first orders will be shipped. (Image: Apple)

Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
