Apple has released the latest updates iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, tvOS 18.3, watchOS 11.3, macOS 15.3 and visionOS 2.3. With a host of new features and improvements, it's worth taking a closer look at the changes. The updates are now available for download and bring both practical new features and important bug fixes.

iOS 18.3, macOS 15.3 and co. are here and deliver some exciting features that will make your everyday life with Apple devices even easier. From smart camera features to improved notifications, there's plenty to discover. Here you can find out all the details about the updates and how they open up new possibilities for your devices.

An overview of the new features

After a short beta phase, Apple has introduced some exciting features with iOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3 that show where the Apple ecosystem is heading. In addition to new functions such as Visual Intelligence and Genmojis, the focus is also on stability and security updates. These innovations are of particular interest to users of modern devices such as the iPhone 16 or Macs with Apple Silicon - with the exception of EU citizens. According to Cupertino only in April benefit from the Apple Intelligence Suite.

iOS 18.3 - What's new?

The iOS update brings several new functions specifically for iPhone 16 models as well as improvements for other devices.

  • Visual Intelligence: One of the most exciting new features is the introduction of Visual Intelligence. With the help of the camera, the iPhone can now recognize objects, plants and animals. This information is displayed directly to you and makes it easier for you to identify things in everyday life. (Part of Apple Intelligence)
  • Add events directly from flyers and posters: You can use the camera to scan events from posters or flyers and add them directly to your calendar. This saves you time and gives you a better overview.
  • Notification summaries: Currently, notification summaries for news and entertainment apps are temporarily disabled. Apple has announced that this function will be reactivated with a later update.

Bug fixes and improvements

  • The calculator repeats the last operation when you tap the equals sign again.
  • Fixed an issue where the keyboard could suddenly disappear during a typed Siri request.
  • A bug where music playback in Apple Music continued even though the app was closed has now also been fixed.

macOS 15.3 - The new functions

For Mac users, macOS 15.3 also brings some interesting new features, especially for devices with Apple Silicon.

  • Genmojis: With this update, you can create personalized emojis, so-called Genmojis. These are supported by Apple Intelligence and can be used in messages and other apps. A fun and creative feature for your Mac.
  • Notification summaries: As with iOS, you can manage notification summaries directly from the lock screen.
  • Summarized notifications are more clearly recognizable thanks to the updated design with italic font and glyph symbol. Again, notification summaries for news and entertainment apps are temporarily unavailable, but will be back soon.

Updates for other systems

In addition to iOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3, Apple has also updated the other operating systems. These mainly bring performance and stability improvements:

  • watchOS 11.3: Performance optimizations and minor bug fixes.
  • tvOS 18.3: Improved compatibility and stability for Apple TV devices.
  • visionOS 2.3: Minor adjustments for users of Vision Pro hardware.
  • Older operating systems: Security and compatibility patches are available for devices that are not compatible with the latest updates, e.g. for iPadOS 17.7.4 and macOS 14.7.3.

iOS 18.3 and co.: focus on new functions and optimizations

The updates to iOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3 offer you a successful mix of new functions and important optimizations. Particularly exciting are features such as Visual Intelligence and Genmojis, which show how Apple is integrating innovations into everyday life. At the same time, stability and security updates ensure that your devices remain optimally protected and efficient. Find first-class accessories for HomeKit and more in our Amazon Storefront.
