iOS 15 introduced many small improvements, including features that have been requested for a long time. However, one feature is causing confusion.
With iOS 15, users can place multiple copies of the same app on the home screen. This means that users can duplicate the same app as many times as they want. Of course, you can overdo it, as you can see in the picture. But what's the point of all this?
It's not a bug, it's a feature
The reason Apple now allows us to arrange multiple copies of the same app is because of iOS 15's new Focus features. Focus allows users to disable individual home screen pages depending on which Focus mode they are in. So you can set up different modes for work, relaxation, exercise, and more. For example, in Work mode, you can hide all pages that contain games and the like to avoid distractions. But there are exceptions. In this sense, a user may want certain apps to be available in different contexts. This requires the same app icons to be available on multiple pages. So how do we do that? The answer is drag and drop.
iOS 15 expands drag-and-drop
An easy way to do this is through the App Library. If you have already placed an app on your home screen, go to the App Library, find the same application and hold it until you can drag it. Now you can App place it anywhere you want - as often as you want. Did you know? iOS 15 also enables drag-and-drop for apps in Spotlight search. This allows users to skip the app library and search directly for an app, then drag it out of Spotlight and place it where they want. Users can repeat the drag-and-drop process as many times as they want to get unlimited copies of the same app icon, which they can place on different pages or even multiple times on the same page.
