Instagram received a new update last night. The app can now be used in dark mode.

Around three weeks after the release of the new iPhone operating system, Instagram has now also been adapted to iOS 13 - the app is now receiving the well-known dark mode. The new design is a mixture of dark gray and black - it corresponds to the system-wide dark mode under iOS 13. The implementation of the new display was linked to the iOS settings. This means that Instagram's interface adapts to the current system settings of the iPhone and automatically switches between light and dark. While Instagram now appears in dark mode, the Facebook app is still a long way off. The social media giant is actually known for tackling adaptations to new operating systems and new devices rather easily - which makes the new update to the Instagram app all the more surprising. The Facebook application may also be updated shortly.

Instagram was founded in 2010 and acquired by Facebook in 2012. Since the acquisition, the photo service has grown significantly in popularity with many new features and a revised user interface. The app is still financed by advertising. Do you have an Instagram account? Then leave a subscription there – we look forward to seeing you. Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
