Things are getting serious. A few days ago, Instagram extended the test phase with hidden like counts to the USA - but now the whole thing is to be expanded globally.

In a short post on Twitter, Instagram announced the extension of the test phase, after which the like counts for subscribers will be hidden. Accordingly, Instagram users worldwide will now be included in the program. Affected accounts will receive a message with the following text:

"We want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many people like your posts."

According to Instagram, they have received positive feedback from the test countries so far. They say:

"While feedback from early tests in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Japan and New Zealand has been positive, this is a fundamental change for Instagram and that's why we're continuing our test to hear more from our global community. Additionally, we understand that like counts are important to many creators and we're actively thinking about how creators can communicate the value to their partners."

According to this, Instagram seems to be working on a solution that will make it easier for content creators to exchange important values with advertising partners. The Facebook subsidiary also seems to be thinking about influencers. At the moment, however, it remains unclear whether all user accounts will really be included in the test or whether only a certain number of accounts per country will be tested.  will be affected. Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
