Google made its paid video conferencing service Meet free last month. Now the service is to be implemented in the Gmail app for iOS and Android.
Google Meet offers numerous useful features, including the ability to hold video conferences with up to 100 participants. The service also includes the ability to schedule meetings and share screens. According to a new blog post, the feature will now be integrated into the Gmail app for iOS and Android. The announcement:

Because video calling is an integral part of our lives, last month we made Google Meet free and accessible to everyone and also released it in Gmail on the web. Today we're bringing Meet to Gmail to Android and iOS, so you can easily join video meetings from your inbox.
The new area can also be hidden
According to the report, a new tab called "Meet" will be implemented in the coming weeks. This will display upcoming meetings, provided they have been scheduled in the Google Calendar. Users can easily join a meeting from this area with just a tap. Furthermore, the new section contains a button called "New Meeting," which users can use to create a new meeting directly. This generates a link that can be shared and scheduled directly in the calendar. Furthermore, a code for sessions can be set, which is required to join. However, Google doesn't want to force "Meet" on every user. This means that anyone who doesn't want to use the feature can easily deactivate it via the settings.
