The news about Apple in connection with the coronavirus just doesn't seem to be letting up. Admittedly, it's starting to get annoying - but it's part of reporting. Now, for the first time, there are supposed to be official data and these reveal Apple's iPhone sales in China.

According to a new Reuters report, there is now official data on smartphone sales in China - including iPhone numbers. According to the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Apple sold just 494,000 devices in China in February 2020. The previous year, the figure was 1.27 million. But the overall decline is said to be much more dramatic. While a total of 14 million smartphones were shipped in China in February 2019, the number was only 6.34 million mobile phones in February 2020 - a decline of around 55 percent. Accordingly, not only Apple is suffering from the coronavirus, but also Huawei and Co.! As a reminder: Apple had to close all 42 Apple Stores on the Chinese mainland at the beginning of February.

Quarterly forecast is still pending

But things are now supposed to be getting better. According to the Chinese government, the number of new infections and deaths reported has decreased in recent weeks. If this information is correct, the novel coronavirus has reached its peak in the Middle Kingdom. In its last quarterly figures, Apple forecast sales of between 64 and 67 billion US dollars in the current quarter. Due to the subsequent situation in China, the company had to issue a profit warning. A new forecast is still pending. (Photo by Kwarkot / Bigstockphoto)

Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
