Instagram plans to send 2FA codes via WhatsApp, according to leaker and app analyst Alessandro Paluzzi. At the moment, Instagram only allows two-factor authentication via an authenticator app, text messages, login requests, and backup codes.
While this feature is still under development, the leaker showhow it will work. Users will have to enable text message authentication to turn on WhatsApp as a 2FA method. Just like how two-factor authentication works currently, this feature will be optional and users can choose for themselves. Since WhatsApp is working on supporting multi-devices, getting 2FA codes to log into Instagram from the web even when the user's main device is turned off would be a great alternative. Of course, since it's still in development, it remains to be seen when the feature will be available for iOS and Android users.
Web version of Instagram to get “Post Creator”
Instagram is currently working on a redesigned web experience with the ability to post photos and videos via the website. As Alessandro Paluzzi also revealed, the update brings the "Post Creator" to the web version of Instagram – which was previously only available on the mobile Instagram website, in addition to the official app. Paluzzi managed to activate the new option on his profile through undisclosed methods. He shared some images on Twitter showing how the Instagram "Post Creator" will work on the web. The interface has been optimized with a preview of the content alongside the posting options.
