Apple has unveiled a new intro for Apple TV, featuring music by FINNEAS, the multi-award-winning musician and producer. The vibrant and dynamic sequence will now open future Apple TV movies and series. It also marks the beginning of a new era for Apple's streaming service, which recently changed its name from Apple TV+ to simply Apple TV.

With its new name and striking intro, Apple aims to more closely align its streaming platform with its own brand identity. The plus sign is dropped, the design is more vibrant, and Apple is also focusing on brand recognition through sound. The new intro is therefore an important step in the evolution of Apple TV – visually, strategically, and musically.

A new identity for Apple TV

Apple announced a few weeks ago that its streaming service will henceforth be called simply Apple TV. The company emphasizes that this change is intended to create a clearer brand structure. Instead of operating various services under slightly different names, Apple TV will now serve as a central platform for TV series, movies, and exclusive content.

The first visible sign of this change can be found in iOS 26.1. The Apple TV app icon has been redesigned, appearing more colorful and modern than before. The subtle color scheme is intended to create a fresher look and reflect the new brand identity.

The new Apple TV intro

Alongside the rebranding, Apple unveiled a new intro that will likely precede all its own content going forward. It features a vibrant animated graphic that creatively showcases the Apple logo. The sequence appears significantly more dynamic than previous versions and its style is reminiscent of classic intros from major film studios – only more modern and minimalist.

The music is by FINNEAS, the renowned artist and producer who has collaborated with Billie Eilish, among others. His style lends the intro a distinctive atmosphere. The sound is electronic yet warm, perfectly capturing the blend of elegance and energy for which Apple is known. Apple describes the new intro with the following statement:

This is just the beginning.

This suggests that the company has more changes and creative enhancements planned for Apple TV.

More than a simple rebranding

Removing the plus sign is not merely a cosmetic change. Apple is increasingly positioning Apple TV as a comprehensive entertainment brand that goes beyond simple streaming. It unites hardware, software, and content under one clear name.

While Apple TV+ has previously operated as a premium service with its own branding, Apple TV will in future serve as the central entry point for everything related to film and series in the Apple ecosystem – whether it be exclusive productions, rental content or use via other services.

The new intro serves as the visual prelude to this transformation. It creates recognition, conveys a mood, and demonstrates Apple's ambition to reinvent itself down to the smallest detail.

Apple TV enters a new era

The new Apple TV intro, featuring music by FINNEAS, signifies a fresh start. The renaming of Apple TV+ to Apple TV, the redesigned app icon in iOS 26.1, and the new audiovisual design all demonstrate Apple's intention to position its streaming service more clearly and independently.

Apple is committed to a consistent experience across all devices and platforms – and the new intro is the first visible step in this plan. With the phrase "This is just the beginning," Apple makes it clear that further steps will follow. Apple TV is thus becoming not just the name of a service, but a symbol for the company's entire entertainment offering.
