Almost two weeks after Apple released iOS 12.3, another update has now been made available to all users – iOS 12.3.1 contains important bug fixes.

The latest update is relatively small because it does not contain any new features - but it is important because it fixes several bugs. The most important changes in iOS 12.3.1 relate to three problems in two different areas. Firstly, the patch fixes a bug with VoLTE calls in the USA and secondly, bugs in "Messages" have been removed. Here, messages from unknown people were displayed in the overview even though the "Filter unknown senders" function was activated. In addition to the problem with the filter, the "Report advertising" command was sometimes not displayed in corresponding conversations. Accordingly, all three bugs should have been fixed with iOS 12.3.1. A timely update of the operating system is therefore recommended. Do you want to test an iOS beta and are not familiar with the process? No problem, we will guide you through the entire process.

Apple TV Channels

The most important new feature in iOS 12.3 is the updated TV app. Apple TV Channels was developed to bring together numerous channels. Consumers should be able to subscribe to TV packages from third-party providers as needed - this also includes Apple's own content.

The Apple TV Channels feature is considered perfect for those who don't want a complete package of programs. Apple works with companies such as Showtime, HBO, Epix, CBS All Access and others. Basically, each of the said services can be subscribed to directly in the Apple TV application - your own iTunes account is used for billing. The content is also played directly in the new TV app - unlike third-party applications. Within the TV app, there are several categories for browsing content. On the iPhone, the bottom part has been reduced to "Watch Now", "Library" and "Search". Similar changes in the menu have also been made on the Apple TV. Apple is relying on machine learning with the new TV app. A new section highlights various films and TV shows that the user might be interested in - based on what the user has seen in the past. Over 150 different services have already been integrated into the TV app, including Hulu and Amazon Prime Video.

Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
