Apple has officially registered the Powerbeats Pro 2 in the Malaysian SIRIM database. At the same time, it has now been announced that a registration with the FCC has already been made and was lost in the hustle and bustle surrounding the iPhone SE 2020.
Product registrations usually never pass us / the media that reports on Apple. But this time it really happened. Apple quietly registered the Powerbeats Pro 2 with the FCC when the new iPhone SE was introduced. So we have a good excuse. But a registration in the Malaysian SIRIM database has now been discovered – this is what our colleagues at iMoreHeadphones with the identifiers A2453 and A2454 were listed in the database. The attached drawing confirms that these must be the successors to the Powerbeats Pro.
Innovations remain a mystery
Apple describes the new accessories as "fully wireless, high-performance headphones." Unfortunately, only one detail about the specifications is known – the new headphones use the 2.4 GHz Bluetooth frequency. Further details remain under wraps. What innovations the Powerbeats Pro 2 will offer is therefore completely unclear. There have been no leaks or rumors so far. The first generation of the Powerbeats Pro was introduced in May 2019. Now that registration is closed, can we expect a launch of the second generation of the Powerbeats Pro soon, possibly as early as May? So, it remains exciting.
