After the Sparkasse informed its customers about the update of the terms and conditions around two weeks ago, ING is now following suit.
So far, ING customers in this country have had to make do without Apple Pay - although the bank already supports Apple's mobile payment service in other countries, the service has not yet been introduced in Germany. But now things seem to be moving. ING is currently informing its customers about an update to its terms and conditions. These are set to officially come into effect on September 14, 2019. The new terms and conditions also explicitly include changes to the well-known ING Visa card as well as new regulations for the digital Visa card and Girocard. The current Visa card is to be converted into a debit card.
Apple Pay could launch at ING with iOS 13
This means that transactions should be posted to the current account on a daily basis - a card exchange is not necessary - according to the bank. ING also commented on the new regulation for digital cards. According to the bank, the bank wants to be prepared for future developments in this area - everyone can guess what that means. There is currently speculation that ING is planning to introduce Apple Pay with the official launch of iOS 13 - whether that will be the case remains to be seen.
