Apple Music Lossless Streaming will be released sometime in June. Reports are now being documented from users who have discovered the first signs.
Apple has not yet announced an exact date for the launch of the new Apple Music features. Since WWDC is only a week away, it could start at any time. Impatient users who are hoping for the update have discoveredthat some albums already show labels for Lossless or Dolby Atmos while others are prompted to re-download albums for the new formats. Most discoveries seem to be taking place in Europe and Asia. In addition, many music videos indicate that they can be played with Spatial Audio enabled within the Apple Music app.
Apple Music: New features require iOS 14.6 or later
A user in the Netherlands was prompted to download an album to experience it with Dolby Atmos with Lossless Audio, but when he attempted to do so, the download did not complete. Another user in Japan was able to see a video EP labeled for Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Lossless, and Apple Digital Master. The new music features require iOS 14.6 or later to work.
