Apple Music: 10 Years of Innovation and Music History

Apple Music is turning 10. A decade full of music, innovation, and new opportunities for artists and listeners. Apple is celebrating this anniversary with an ambitious step into the future: a new studio in Los Angeles, a series of specials on Apple Music Radio, and a global platform that fosters creativity and sharing.

If you stream music regularly, you're probably familiar with Apple Music. It not only gives you access to millions of songs, but also exclusive content, interviews, and live streams. For its 10th anniversary, Apple Music is demonstrating that it's not just about music streaming, but an experience that connects artists and listeners more closely.

A new creative center in Los Angeles

Apple has built a state-of-the-art studio in Culver City, California. It is over 15,000 square meters in size and spread over three floors. The studio features:

Two radio studios with immersive spatial audio. They are flexibly set up for interviews, discussions, or spontaneous live performances.
A 4,000 square meter soundstage for concerts, fan events, video shoots, and film screenings.
A dedicated mixing room for spatial audio with a 9.2.4 PMC speaker system.
A social media and photo lab, an editing room and a green room for content production.
Private isolation booths for songwriting, podcasts, and one-on-one interviews.
Two areas, the A-List Corridor and the Archive Corridor, with visual reminders of highlights from ten years of Apple Music.

Apple Music's Rachel Newman describes the studio as a place for vision, exchange, and creative freedom. It's designed to empower artists to tell their stories in new ways. Apple Music remains true to its philosophy: high-quality sound, authentic storytelling, and support for artists at all levels.

Apple Music Radio celebrates with specials

Apple Music Radio plays a central role in the anniversary. Hosts Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden will launch "Don't Be Boring: The Birth of Apple Music Radio" on June 30, chronicling the beginnings of Beats 1, the first global live radio station in the digital world.

It all starts with “10 Years of Apple Music,” an eight-hour show featuring the biggest moments, exclusive releases, live events, and behind-the-scenes stories.
It continues with “Live: 10 Years Of Apple Music” with artists who have helped shape the platform over the years.

Starting July 1, Apple Music Radio will present the 500 most-streamed songs of the past ten years. 100 songs will be featured each day. On July 5, the top 100 most-listened-to songs of all time will be released on Apple Music. This playlist, titled "10 Years of Apple Music: Top Songs," will be available for streaming afterward.

Replay All Time: Your very own music review

Apple Music is introducing a new feature called "Replay All Time," which shows which songs you've listened to most since joining. You'll find this personalized playlist in the app's Home tab. This gives you access not only to your music history but also an emotional look back at your listening journey over the past few years.

A global network for the future of music

The Los Angeles studio is part of a larger plan. Apple Music is building a global network of creative centers. Studios in New York, Tokyo, Berlin, Paris, and Nashville are already active, with more to follow. Apple Music aims to set new standards not only in music streaming, but also in production, presentation, and the community experience surrounding music.
