Apple has now made three changes to its App Store developer guidelines, including removing a restriction that prohibits the use of contact information to promote external purchasing options.

Apple released the updated developer guidelines late Friday evening announced. The adjustments take effect immediately and are valid for all developers. The biggest change is the removal of at least one rule that prohibited developers from using user contact information to promote alternative payment systems. Basically, Apple says this move gives developers more flexibility in how they approach their customers. Developers can now send emails to users promoting cheaper prices in other countries. The change was made to fulfill the company's part of the agreement it made with developers.

App Store Guidelines: Changes Consider In-App Events

Although the change is related to anti-steering, Apple did not invoke the Epic Games v. Apple ruling, which would prohibit Apple from applying its anti-steering policies. Cupertino has since appealed the ruling and asked for a stay of the decision. Another minor change is an update to App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1. The change clarifies that apps can ask for basic contact information as long as the request is optional. It also prohibits developers from making certain features and services dependent on providing this information. In addition, the updated guidelines take into account in-app events, which are set to launch on October 27. ..(Photo by Denys Prykhodov / Bigstockphoto)

Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
