2025 remains a year of activity for Apple. Despite the quiet summer months, a whole host of new products are about to be launched. More than ten devices are scheduled to appear before the end of the year, including new iPhones, Apple Watches, redesigned iPads, updated home devices, and accessories. Most of these new products are expected to be unveiled in the fall, when Apple traditionally holds its major product events.

The planned product releases cover almost the entire Apple portfolio. In addition to well-known device categories like the iPhone and Apple Watch, products from the smart home, wearables, and high-end hardware sectors will also be updated. Many models will receive faster processors, more powerful cameras, longer battery life, and new features, while others are expected to surprise with completely new designs. Even though some details have so far only been rumored, a comprehensive picture of the planned upgrades is already emerging.

iPhone 17 series

The iPhone 17 series consists of four models. The iPhone 17 retains the design of its predecessor but features an A19 chip, a larger 6.3-inch display, an improved 24-megapixel front-facing camera, and possibly a 120Hz refresh rate. The iPhone 17 Air is a completely new model with an ultra-thin and light body, a 6.6-inch display, an A19 chip, 12 GB of RAM, a 48-megapixel rear camera, a 24-megapixel front-facing camera, a single speaker, and an optional battery case. The iPhone 17 Pro features three 48-megapixel rear cameras, an aluminum frame, the A19 Pro chip, 12 GB of RAM, color options such as copper or orange, and possibly a vapor chamber cooling system for better heat dissipation. The iPhone 17 Pro Max offers the same technical innovations as the Pro model, but has a slightly thicker design for a larger, longer-lasting battery.

Apple Watch models

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected to have a slightly larger display, offer 5G support, and enable satellite connectivity for sending and receiving text messages in supported regions even without cellular or Wi-Fi. An S10 chip or newer, faster charging, and a wide-angle OLED display that appears brighter even from an angle are also planned. Following the major design changes of the Series 10, the Apple Watch Series 11 will primarily receive a technical upgrade. An S11 chip and minor adjustments to the casing are likely. Clues in the iOS 26 beta code point to a "Sleep Score" feature that may be exclusive to the new models. The Apple Watch SE 3 could feature larger displays. Earlier rumors of a plastic casing in bright colors are now considered uncertain. Since the SE hasn't been updated since 2022, extensive feature improvements are likely.

Devices with M5 chip

The upcoming iPad Pro is expected to be equipped with the M5 chip and feature two front-facing cameras that are optimized for use in both portrait and landscape modes. The Apple Vision Pro will also receive an update with the M5 chip. It is expected to receive a new headband that improves comfort over extended periods. No major design changes are expected for either device.
The first Macs with the M5 chip were originally expected for 2025, but according to current rumors, they will not appear until 2026.

Home and accessories products

The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K is expected to launch with a new Apple-designed Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip supporting Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7. The processor is expected to be more powerful than the current A15 Bionic. An integrated FaceTime camera has been discussed but is unconfirmed. The second-generation HomePod mini is expected to use the same new Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip and offer improved sound quality. The second-generation AirTags will offer up to three times the range for tracking objects and will feature a tamper-evident speaker to prevent misuse.

In planning, but not yet certain

The AirPods Pro 3 are being discussed with a new design and improved active noise cancellation, although a market launch could take place in late 2025 or 2026 at the earliest. The Studio Display 2 is said to feature mini-LED backlighting and be released in late 2025 or early 2026.
Additionally, smaller accessories could be introduced, including an updated version of the MagSafe charger for iPhones and new Beats models.

Apple Products: New Devices and Major Upgrades Coming

Apple is planning one of its biggest product offensives in years for the coming months. From redesigned iPhones and more powerful Apple Watches to new iPads and Vision Pro updates and smarter accessories – almost every product category will be covered. With the announced and expected upgrades, Apple aims to improve existing models while simultaneously introducing new devices to the market that stand out with fresh designs and expanded features. The second half of 2025 should therefore be particularly exciting for the company and for technology enthusiasts. Time for fresh accessories?
