Following the announcement of the new Mac Studio and Studio Display last month, Apple plans to unveil a few more Macs in 2022. Two of these unreleased devices could be announced at WWDC 2022.
In his latest Output In the "Power On" newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that Apple could announce two new Mac devices during WWDC 2022. Gurman has been reporting for several months that Apple has a long list of Macs slated for updates in 2022.
Apple is gearing up to unveil some new Macs in the next few months, and what better place to do that than WWDC? That's the same place where two years ago it announced the Macs' move from Intel to Apple's own chips. There are rumors that two new Macs will be coming in the middle of the year or early in the second half of the year. One of them will likely be the new MacBook Air.
WWDC 2022: Apple could announce brand new MacBook Air
If true, a few months after unveiling the M1 Ultra chip and saying the M1 family is now complete, Apple could unveil its first computer with the M2 chip: the MacBook Air. Rumors so far say it will have a new design similar to the 24-inch iMac, with white borders and colored options to choose from. While it was initially thought that this MacBook Air could come with a MiniLED display, that no longer seems to be the case. Additionally, this Mac could include new ports, MagSafe compatibility, and a better FaceTime camera. Gurman also mentions new Macs that Apple is expected to unveil this year:
Other models in the works include an updated Mac mini and 24-inch iMac, as well as a lower-end MacBook Pro to replace the aging 13-inch model. Not to mention the new Mac Pro and iMac Pro models that are also in development.
