The AirPods 3 have been the subject of rumors for months. The launch was last expected in September. Now another event is coming up. Will Apple finally unveil the new earphones?
Rumors initially suggested that the new AirPods 3 would be presented at the September keynote. After all, they are best suited to an iPhone or an Apple Watch. But nothing came of that. Now the "Unleashed" event is coming up, which will take place on Monday, October 18th. The focus will be on brand new MacBook Pro models. But what about new audio accessories? The Weibo leaker @PandaIsBald, who announced the presentation of the ninth generation iPad for the last Apple event, claimedthat in addition to the “M1X” Macs, the third generation of AirPods will also be announced.
AirPods 3: With or without silicone tips?
According to various rumors, the third generation AirPods will have a similar design to the current AirPods Pro, making them the biggest update to date. Despite the revised casing, however, functions such as active noise cancellation are not to be expected. The audio quality is said to be better than the second generation, however. Among other things, there is said to be "noticeably better bass." The battery life is also expected to increase. However, it remains unclear whether the new AirPods will be equipped with silicone attachments like the AirPods Pro or whether they will have the same in-ear design as the first and second generation AirPods. If the leaker is right once again, we will know more by Monday evening at the latest.
