The rumor mill surrounding the iPhone 15 has already raised many expectations in advance, including the introduction of haptic volume buttons. However, there were rumors in April that Apple would not introduce this feature due to cost reasons and technical issues. Bloomberg writer Mark Gurman has now stated that the iPhone 16 Pro will come with haptic buttons while the iPhone 15 Pro will retain the standard design with traditional volume buttons.

Although haptic volume buttons were already expected for the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple has been hesitant to introduce this feature due to costs and technical issues. However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has reportedthat Apple will introduce the feature on the iPhone 16 Pro next year. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also confirmed that Apple will hold off on the solid-state buttons until the launch of the iPhone 16 Pro. The solid-state buttons were originally intended to change the design of the volume controls and use a single button instead of two buttons.

However, this design change seems to be linked to the introduction of haptic technology, so the iPhone 15 Pro will still keep the standard design with two volume buttons. However, there will be one notable change, which is the introduction of a mute button instead of a mute switch. This button could serve as an "action button" with the ability to program it for different functions. The iPhone 15 Pro will keep the standard design with traditional volume buttons. The iPhone 16 Pro, on the other hand, is said to come with haptic buttons. While Apple is holding back on solid-state technology due to cost and technical issues, the mute button is being introduced as a notable design change this year. This change offers the ability to program the button for different functions and could thus be a positive change for users. (Photo by SashaMagic / Bigstockphoto)
