For some time now, in addition to new iPad models, an iPod touch and the second generation of AirPods and AirPower have been expected. In addition to numerous statements from third parties, corresponding notes discovered in the latest iOS beta versions. What was initially thought to be a joke could now actually be the case. US media are expecting the launch of a new iPod touch tomorrow. At the beginning of the month there were already hints from anonymous sources that predicted exactly that. The well-known star analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also predicted something similar in the past.
Given that Apple wants to focus on new services on March 25, this would not be entirely unreasonable. In addition, the iPhone-like device was last updated in 2015. An update is therefore overdue. It is not yet known what new features the iPod touch 7 might actually have. Observers assume that Apple wants to promote the iPod touch as an inexpensive entry-level device into the iOS world. This includes children and young people whose parents are not yet ready to buy an iPhone - the perfect audience.
