On November 1, 2024, Apple plans to launch new products, including several Macs and an iPad mini. This information comes from the latest "Power On" newsletter by Mark Gurman, a renowned analyst at Bloomberg. Below you will find all the important details about the new devices and what you can expect from the next Apple event.

Mark Gurman, known for his reliable insights into Apple's plans, announced the upcoming product releases in his newsletter this weekend. announced. Apple fans can look forward to a number of updates, including new MacBooks, an iMac, and an updated iPad mini. Interestingly, there are no mentions of a new entry-level iPad, suggesting a possible delay of that product to 2025.

M4 chip: The new standard in Apple's Macs

Apple will launch several new models of its MacBook and desktop lines, all of which will feature the new M4 chip. The devices featured include:

  • 14-inch MacBook Pro (entry-level): This model is aimed at users who want high performance at a more affordable price. With the M4 chip, this device will work faster and more efficiently.
  • 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros (high-end): These models are intended for professional users and are equipped with the more powerful M4 Pro and M4 Max chips.
  • New iMac: Apple plans to launch a new iMac that will also use the M4 chip. The iMac remains a favorite among creative professionals, and this update will surely boost performance in graphics- and compute-intensive tasks.
  • Redesigned Mac mini: Along with the MacBooks and iMac, the Mac mini will also receive an update that includes both the M4 and M4 Pro chips. The Mac mini has established itself as a versatile and compact solution for many users, and the upgrade promises to further improve this flexibility.

iPad mini 7: Compact and powerful

In addition to the new Macs, Apple will introduce the iPad mini 7. The iPad mini has established itself as a firm favourite among users looking for a portable yet powerful device. The new model is expected to feature an A16 chip or possibly even an M chip. This upgrade makes the iPad mini an even more attractive choice for mobile users who don't want to sacrifice performance.

No updates for the cheap iPad

According to Gurman, an update to the cheapest iPad is no longer planned this year. Instead, it will launch in 2025, when other products such as the iPhone SE and new iPad Airs are also unveiled. Apple is also working on new Magic Keyboards for the iPad Air to further improve the user experience.

Further products in development

It's also interesting that Gurman mentions that Apple is working on new versions of the Mac Studio and Mac Pro. Both devices will also feature the M4 chip, but aren't scheduled to be released until 2025, according to Gurman. These high-end devices are designed for users who need maximum performance, especially in areas like video rendering, music production, and software development. Additionally, an updated AirTag is in the works. This small but popular item tracking device will also receive an update in 2025. It remains to be seen what new features the AirTag will offer in its next version.

Apple focuses on performance and variety with its upcoming devices

Apple's upcoming products promise to appeal to both professional and casual users. The new M4 chip will no doubt offer a significant performance boost, and the iPad mini 7 could become one of the most powerful mini tablets on the market. Although some products, like the entry-level iPad, won't be updated until next year, Apple has exciting new devices in the pipeline for this fall. (Image: Apple)
