Apple will most likely present macOS 10.15 and Co. at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) - this begins on June 3rd. Now new details about macOS 10.15 have emerged - the information is said to come directly from Apple's development department.

There are also new details on macOS 10.15 - the information comes from people involved in the development of the new Mac system. According to them, Apple is aiming to bring macOS and iOS closer together in the future.

The new macOS version will include, among other things, the Siri Shortcuts and Screen Time functions known from iOS 12. The Shortcuts app is said to be a marzipan version According to the source, only Marzipan apps are supported by Shortcuts under macOS. The porting of iPad apps should be easier under the new SDK – this will also be presented at this year's WWDC 2019 presented.

Screen time with many benefits

Apple engineers are also working on further developing Siri on macOS - it should be able to perform the same tasks as on iOS. This includes checking air quality, setting timers and alarms. The Screen Time function known from iOS 12 is also to be introduced on macOS. This feature allows users to see how much time they spend in apps and limit the amount of time that should be spent in a specific app or category of apps, such as social media. The function is particularly suitable for parents - they can use the Screen Time options to set time limits for their children.

Managing Family Sharing and iMessage Effects

The source notes that the feature will work exactly the same on Mac as it does on iOS. Apple is also working on a new Apple ID management system that will be integrated into macOS's system settings - this will, among other things, allow for better configuration of Family Sharing on Mac devices. In addition, the well-known iMessage effects such as confetti, fireworks, etc. will finally be introduced on macOS.
