It should hardly be a secret that Apple is planning to introduce three new iPhone models in September. But when will the iPhone 11 and Co. go on sale? A Wedbush analyst wants to know the answer to this question.

Since 2012, Apple has held a major media event every September at which the company presents its latest iPhone series. But there is now a change in the process. In 2017, Apple introduced the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X - although three models were presented, Apple did not put all devices on the shelves at the same time. The iPhone 8 was launched as usual in September, while the iPhone X did not debut worldwide until early November. Apple took a similar approach last year. In 2018, the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR were introduced. While the iPhone XS generation was able to launch in September, the iPhone XR had to wait until the end of October.

Early market launch out of necessity?

According to Wedbusch, this is set to change this year. Apple plans to launch all three iPhone models at the same time – the analysts claim to have learned this from suppliers. (Apple plans new name extension for iPhone 11) In addition, the devices will not be released in the third week of September as previously thought, but will be available from the second week of September. Until now, September 20th was considered a hot candidate. The change is said to be of a strategic nature. According to Wedbush, Apple wants to significantly improve its third quarter figures with an earlier market launch. The company is forecasting sales of around 61 - 64 billion US dollars for this quarter - this is significantly more than last year. It remains to be seen whether Wedbush's own forecast will be correct. Apple AirPods with wireless charging case on special offer on Amazon (Photo by hadrian / Bigstockphoto)
