This statement is further supported by Ross Young, a well-connected industry analyst and vice president at Counterpoint Research. He also expects the base iPhone 17 model to launch with a 6.3-inch display. According to Young, the expected display sizes for the iPhone 17 series are as follows:
- iPhone 17: 6.3 inches
- iPhone 17 Air: 6.6 inches
- iPhone 17 Pro: 6.3 inches
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: 6.9 inches
This would put the base unit almost on par with the Pro models for the first time, at least in terms of display area.
Display with 120 Hertz instead of 60
Another difference from the iPhone 16 is the expected refresh rate. The base iPhone 17 is expected to have a display with up to 120 Hertz. The iPhone 16's refresh rate is still 60 Hertz.
