A new report suggests that Apple will equip the iPhone 15 with WiFi 6E, which would bring the device into line with other Apple devices such as the Mac mini, MacBook Pro, and iPad Pro.
Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis and Tom O'Malley have published an analysis that has been made available to various US media (via MacRumors). It claims that Apple will equip the upcoming iPhone 15 with WiFi 6E. It is currently unclear whether support will be limited to the iPhone 15 Pro models. WiFi 6E operates in the same 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands as WiFi 6 but also in the 6 GHz band. This enables faster wireless speeds and less signal interference. To use the 6GHz band, devices must be connected to a WiFi 6E router. WiFi 6E is not new to Apple's current lineup - the current generation of iPad Pro (11" and 12.9"), MacBook Pro (14" and 16"), and Mac mini all come with it. The iPhone 14 comes with WiFi 6 as standard, although previous rumors suggested an upgrade.

The iPhone 15 series is expected to be unveiled at the Apple event in September 2023. Analysts have already started making predictions for the next generation of Apple smartphones. Some expect the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus to feature a 3-stack sensor and a 48-megapixel wide-angle lens like the iPhone 14 Pro models. For the higher-end iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models, some analysts expect Apple to include a 12-megapixel periscope lens that enables improved optical zoom.
