Rumors that the iPhone 12 series would be released later than usual were officially confirmed by Apple last week. Now, launch details have emerged that show that all four devices probably won't be released at the same time.

Apple normally never comments on unreleased devices, especially not the iPhone. But last week the company had to make an exception for the first time. According to Apple, the new iPhone will be released a few weeks later than usual. Since the new smartphones usually appear in September, this would mean that the market launch will start in October. However, a presentation is still expected in September. Now DigiTimes has announced in a new Article and cited sources from suppliers. As a reminder: The iPhone 12 series consists of a 5.4-inch iPhone as well as two 6.1-inch devices and a 6.7-inch model. According to the information, Apple plans to launch the devices in pairs. The article states:

Will the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 be released in November?

Apple may launch its 5G iPhones in two stages, with two 6.1-inch models in the first and two more 6.7- and 5.4-inch devices in the second, the sources said, adding that suppliers of SLP (substrate-like PCBs) motherboards for the former models recently started shipping them, with shipments for the latter expected to begin in late August.

Shipments of flexible boards for new iPhones will peak about 2-4 weeks later than usual this year, the sources said.

So if the information is correct, the two 6.1-inch devices will launch first, followed by the smallest and largest models. Previous reports have suggested a November debut for the 6.7-inch iPhone. So these rumors could turn out to be true. At least it wouldn't be the first time. The iPhone X was already launched in early November 2017. Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
