The iPhone 12 is set to set new standards. In addition to a redesign, we can also expect many new features. But the traditional schedule could be negatively affected by the coronavirus.

Apple usually presents the new iPhone generation every September. While the event usually takes place in mid-September, the market launch follows at the end of the month. But this year things could look a little different. The ongoing coronavirus crisis is jeopardising the schedule - according to a new analysis. The news site Bloomberg has published a new report citing analysts at Bank of America who believe that the iPhone 12 will be released at least a month later than expected. The analysis is consistent with reports from suppliers and insiders that Apple is already having problems developing the iPhone 12.

The iPhone 9 could also appear later

In addition to the iPhone 12, the iPhone 9, which is expected this month, could also be delayed. The problems here are due to assembly partners and demand. Analysts believe that the release of the iPhone 9 depends on how production will look in April and May. The bottom line is that Apple could even postpone the presentation or market launch of the iPhone 9. An Apple event was originally expected at the end of March, but reports say Apple has already "canceled" the event. The company wants to present new products via press releases - that was also my own forecast based on developments in recent weeks. All in all, Apple, like many other companies, is facing a particularly hair-raising challenge. The extent of the problem can be seen from the sales forecast for the second quarter. After Apple forecast sales of around 63 - 67 billion US dollars, the forecast was quickly withdrawn. There has been no correction to date. This is not expected to be presented until April. (Photo by Eremin / Bigstockphoto)

Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
