Although Apple remained somewhat modest in 2021, the company was able to impress with one or two products. But there is set to be a lot more in 2022. This is what a reputable source is now claiming.

In the latest edition of his newsletter “Power On” codes Bloomberg's Mark Gurman breaks down everything Apple is expected to unveil in the new year. Gurman "confirms" some of our expectations and previous rumors. In particular, he emphasizes that Apple is planning a new iPad Pro design with support for wireless charging, as well as updates to the iPad Air and entry-level iPad. Gurman also claims that Apple is planning a redesigned MacBook Air and a "redesigned high-end iMac with Apple Silicon" for 2022. A new entry-level MacBook Pro, a new Mac Pro, and a new Mac mini are also in the works for next year. In the Apple Watch area, Gurman expects three new models, including an updated Apple Watch SE, an updated standard model, and a "rugged version for extreme sports enthusiasts."

Apple 2022: iPhone 14, iPhone SE 3, Apple Watch Series 8 and more

2021 was a modest year for Apple product updates, but I expect a wider range of new products in 2022. Let's go through the list of products I expect for next year.

Below is a full breakdown of what Gurman says to expect from Apple in 2022:

  • A new iPad Pro design with wireless charging, as well as updates for the iPad Air and the entry-level iPad.
  • A redesigned high-end iMac with Apple Silicon that will be positioned above the new 24-inch model.
  • An iPhone SE with 5G.
  • New AirPods Pro.
  • The biggest redesign of the MacBook Air in the product's history with the M2 chip and a new design.
  • New versions of the Mac mini, the entry-level MacBook Pro, and a redesigned Mac Pro with Apple Silicon.
  • Of course, the iPhone 14 lineup.
  • Three new Apple Watches, including a new Apple Watch SE, an updated standard model and a rugged version aimed at extreme sports enthusiasts.
  • And, perhaps most importantly, the launch of Apple's first mixed augmented and virtual reality headset.

If Gurman is correct with this prediction, the absolute highlight will be Apple's much-discussed headset. Whether he is right in the end remains to be seen, of course. But the fact is that his statement confirms previous rumors that have been with us for many months. (Image: Apple)
