The rumor mill is once again bubbling in the world of Apple devices. This time, the iPad Air and iPad Pro are in the spotlight. According to reports, the upcoming models of these two popular tablets could feature a notable change - a FaceTime camera in landscape mode.

For years, Apple's iPads have been at the forefront of tablet technology. With each model, Apple improves its features and designs to meet the needs of its users. Now, rumors suggest that the company is planning a game-changing change by adjusting the position of the FaceTime camera. This potential shift promises an even more immersive and user-friendly experience for iPad users. But how exactly will this work?

The problem of current camera positioning

The current iPad Air and iPad Pro models feature a FaceTime camera on the top of the device. However, this has the disadvantage that the camera is not ideally positioned during FaceTime calls in landscape mode. Apple seems to be addressing this issue with the next generation. Rumors suggest that both the redesigned iPad Air and the OLED iPad Pro will feature a FaceTime camera mounted on the side of the device, meaning it will be upright in landscape mode. The discovery of code in iOS 17.4 indicated has already hinted at this possible change by suggesting that the next iPad Pro could have a similar positioning of the FaceTime camera.

speculation and rumors

This clue has now been confirmed by claims made by casual leaker Instant Digital on the Chinese social media platform Weibo reinforced. It is speculated that the upcoming versions of the iPad Air will also feature this innovation. However, the implementation of a FaceTime camera in landscape mode raises some questions, especially regarding compatibility with accessories such as the second generation Apple Pencil. So far, this pencil is connected via an inductive magnetic charger on the side, where the front camera will be positioned in the future. It remains to be seen how Apple will overcome this obstacle, but rumors suggest that the company plans to launch a new Apple Pencil along with the updated iPads.

Outlook on the future of the iPad Air and iPad Pro

The upcoming launch of new iPad Air and iPad Pro models promises exciting new features, including the potential move of the FaceTime camera to landscape mode. This change could further improve the user experience of these popular tablets and allow users to communicate even more seamlessly. While the details are still unclear, expectations are high and users can be excited to see what Apple will unveil next. The new models are expected to launch later this month and the world will be waiting with bated breath to see if these rumors turn out to be true. Looking for new accessories?
