Apple presents the new versions of macOS, iOS, watchOS and tvOS every year at the WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference). The mobile operating system iOS is attracting particularly great interest - possible features for iOS 13 were recently leaked.

This year, Apple should introduce the next major iOS version - iOS 13. After iOS 12 was supposed to be a pure performance update with only a few new features, according to Apple, iOS 13 is eagerly awaited. The main focus of iOS 12 was, among other things, on optimizing performance and improving battery life. Now the expectations for iOS 13 are particularly high - to the new iOS 13 features For example, the dark mode should be included.

Four iPhone line-ups in danger

Now a new rumor is causing trouble - compatibility. The new iOS 13 is supposed to retire four iPhone line-ups - allegedly. Accordingly, support for the iPhone 5S, iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is to be dropped - as if that wasn't enough, rumor has it that the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are also on the hit list. The elimination of the iPhone 5S would still be acceptable, but what about the newer models? Apart from the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the other iPhone models are less than five years old - whether Apple really wants to shorten the life cycles of its own devices cannot currently be answered with certainty. The fact is: Such a step is likely to cause great anger among fans - we personally doubt that Apple will take such a path.

iPad models before the end

According to the report, the iPad Air and iPad Air 2 as well as all four iPad mini models will be left empty-handed. If this is the case, Apple would also be phasing out the iPad mini 4 too early - the small tablet was introduced in September 2015. It remains to be seen whether the rumors will turn out to be true, and since there has been no confirmation of this so far, the whole thing should of course be treated with particular caution. Observers suspect that the upcoming WWDC 2019 will take place in June.
