Apple will not introduce an iMac Pro or a Mac Pro before 2023, while a 27-inch external display without mini-LED is expected to launch later this year, an analyst now claims.

In his predictions for Apple's Mac lineup in 2022 and 2023, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo explains that Apple will introduce a new high-end Mac mini and a 27-inch external display without mini-LED in 2022, while an Apple Silicon Mac Pro and an iMac Pro will not be released until 2023. In his latest Tweet is it [called:

Rumors contradict each other

Predictions for Apple's new desktop products: 2022: More powerful Mac mini and more affordable external display (27-inch without mini-LED). 2023: Mac Pro and iMac Pro.

Kuo's prediction that Apple won't launch an iMac Pro until next year contradicts information provided by display analyst Ross Young. Young, who also has a credible track record on Apple products, said an iMac Pro could be released as early as June of this year. The iMac Pro is expected to replace the 27-inch Intel-based iMac and sit alongside the 24-inch desktop computer. Young claims that the iMac Pro will feature mini-LED and a similar design to the 24-inch model.

iMac Pro and Mac Pro: Which path will Apple take?

Given the large discrepancy between Kuo's and Young's information, it's plausible that the analysts are referring to different devices. Kuo could be referring to a true professional-grade iMac at the top end of the lineup, while Young's information simply points to a non-professional iMac. As a reminder, Apple has used the "iMac Pro" name before for a now-discontinued iMac. Although a rumor suggests the company will revive the name, it's questionable whether Apple will actually use the name again.
