We recently reported that the Apple Watch Series 7 could appear in a brand new design. Now a leaker has created renderings that are said to be based on prototypes.

In a new video Jon Prosser explains that Apple wants to redesign the Apple Watch, which has had the same case design since its launch, with the Series 7. In fact, the upcoming Apple Watch Series 7 could have a flat-edged design, bringing it in line with the iPhone 12 series, iPad Pro and iPad Air 4. One of the most noticeable new changes, says Prosser, will be flat edges. The current Apple Watches have curved edges, similar to the previous iPhone generation.

However, with the iPhone 12, Apple returned to flat edges. Upcoming MacBook devices are also expected to receive such a casing. In addition to the flat edges, Apple may offer a new casing option in green color. Prosser claims that Apple has been testing "experimental colors" and that the green color option is not completely set in stone. Chances are good, though.

Apple Watch Series 7: Will Apple introduce new health features?

As with the AirTags and AirPods Max, Prosser has shared renderings for the upcoming watch that he claims are based on real-world images and CAD files. Prosser says the screen size and display will remain the same, but notes that he's heard Apple has been testing prototypes of the Apple Watch with smaller bezels and a larger display. Whether new sensors and health features will be added remains unknown, however.

There are rumors that Apple is working on blood sugar and blood pressure monitoring for future Apple Watch models. With the Series 6, Apple introduced blood oxygen tracking and previously added ECG functionality with the Apple Watch Series 4. It is likely that Apple will continue to push the health features on the watch. But what exactly will be introduced with the Series 7 remains unknown for now. (Image: Jon Prosser x Rendersbyan)
