Apple says it wants to switch its entire Mac line from Intel processors to Apple Silicon chips within the next two years.

The accurate Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is known for having good contacts in Apple's supply chain. According to him, the company will deliver a MacBook Pro 13.3-inch with Apple Silicon chip by the end of the year. He made this forecast before WWDC 2020 and Apple's associated announcement. Now he has published a new analysis that looks at the whole thing in more detail. Accordingly, he sticks to his previous statement and emphasized again that Apple will release a MacBook Pro 13.3-inch with ARM chip in the fourth quarter of this year. However, he also expects a MacBook Air with Apple Silicon to go into production around the same time. The market launch could either start by the end of the year or in early 2021. Apple has already said several times Products debut in December, so this is not completely out of the question.

MacBook Pro 16″ interim update unclear

Two more updates are planned for 2021. According to this, the 14-inch MacBook Pro will officially be released next year. revealed and an update to the 16-inch model will be released. Both devices will use the brand new Apple Silicon processor. According to Kuo, the starting price of the new MacBook Air could even be reduced because Apple is saving some costs in chip production. However, he emphasizes that this is just speculation. He has no insight into Apple's marketing or pricing plans. Some observers expected the brand new 14" model in the first half of 2020. But it seems that the Cupertino-based company needs more time, which is why we have to wait until 2021. It remains unclear whether Apple is planning an interim update to the 16" MacBook Pro. Today's analysis focuses only on portable Macs. Whether he will discuss new desktop models in the next few days remains to be seen. (Photo by dvoevnore / Bigstockphoto)
