Apple Card Beta Test is being expanded

The new payment method is called Apple Card and is being developed in collaboration with Goldman Sachs. Cupertino wants to bring a particularly secure credit card to market with Apple Card. The promise: Apple has no insight into users' purchases. New details about the beta phase have now become known.

The beta phase of the new Apple Card was leaked a few weeks ago and recently by Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon confirmed. Now the news channel Bloomberg claims to have learned new details about the test phase. According to the report, the Apple Card beta test has now reached US retail employees of the Cupertino-based company. The employees are allowed to shop publicly with the Apple Card - but they are not allowed to talk about it or reveal details - Bloomberg said, citing insiders. Apple is allegedly informing retail employees via internal messages that allow them to register directly via the iPhone. Those who take part in the beta program will receive a physical version of the card within two to three weeks.

Introduction in Europe already under discussion

Bloomberg reiterated that the Apple Card will be introduced together with the final version of iOS 12.4. The Apple Card will initially only be available in the US.

Although it is primarily a digital card, a physical titanium credit card will also be available – this will be used, for example, when users cannot use Apple Pay. According to Apple, the new credit card will have no fees and will promote cashback rewards. When the Apple Card It remains to be seen whether it will be available in other countries.
