The next highly anticipated Apple Keynote will take place in a few days and hardly a day goes by without a rumor about the upcoming products. Now an official ten-page document has surfaced that shows a number of details about the upcoming iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad Pro models - including the respective software.
The document is said to have been created by Apple itself - its authenticity has not yet been confirmed, so the content should be viewed with a good dose of skepticism. The document is said to have originally been created for selected Apple employees, retailers and contractors - it is called "Apple Software Development Recourses". The document was uploaded to Twitter a few hours ago by the well-known account "AppleBeta2019" - the Twitter user is already known for his information on the individual beta versions of the operating systems. The document has been studied in detail by several media outlets, including AppleInsider, and although some of the information contained in it is convincing, some of these details are viewed with great skepticism. If the content is genuine, Apple would change its usual autumn pattern for the first time in history. It would also undermine Apple's move to release the first beta iOS 13.1 to publish, explain.
iPhone 11 and iOS 13
According to the ten-page document, the upcoming iPhone models will be released under the names iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max - internally they are referred to as "N104", "D42" and "D43". The new name addition has already been mentioned several times in various rumors - so far so good. But now it gets interesting and confusing! All three models are to be delivered with iOS 13.1 as standard - a corresponding beta has been available since last week. But iOS 13.1 will not be available for all other older devices until October. Until now, observers assumed that the devices would go on sale on September 20th - but according to the document, this will be the case from September 27th. On September 23rd, only iOS 13 will be released for all users. A security update - iOS 13.0.1 - is to follow shortly. If you compare the process with recent years, you will notice significant changes. The devices can usually be pre-ordered on the Friday after the launch - delivery takes place a week later. The new operating systems are rolled out just a few days after the event. But this time the process is set to be delayed by a week. The timetable for iOS 13 is particularly confusing - despite the lack of justification, this would explain the early beta launch of iOS 13.1.
Apple Watch Series 5
In addition to the iPhone 11 models, the document also mentions the new Apple Watch generation. According to it, Apple plans to present the Apple Watch Series 5 in four versions on September 10th. The document describes devices with the model names A2156, A2157, A2092 and A2093. The operating system to be used at market launch is said to be watchOS 6. According to the document in question, an update to watchOS 6.1 is already planned for October.
iPad Pro 2019
Finally, the upcoming iPads were also mentioned. According to this, two models with the identifier A2068 and A2198 are to be released. It remains to be seen whether these will be announced next week or in October. New iPads and Mac devices are usually presented as part of another keynote in October. According to the ten-page document, the iPad model with the identifier A2068 is the entry-level model, while the A2198 version is the successor to the iPad Pro 2018. Both models will be delivered with iPadOS 13. In addition to iOS 13, macOS 10.15 Catalina, iPadOS 13, tvOS 13 and watchOS 6 are also to be released on September 23rd.
