Apple today began notifying developers that they can use the new Xcode cloud service, first announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

Apple introduced the brand new Xcode Cloud Service for developers at WWDC 2021. Registered developers have now been contacted by the company. It states:

We're excited to announce that your account has been activated for the Xcode Cloud Beta. You can now take advantage of the continuous integration and delivery services built into Xcode 13.

Xcode Cloud is a cloud-based Xcode service that enables developers to build, test, and deliver high-quality apps in the cloud instead of directly on the Mac.

Xcode Cloud: Developers can sign up

Xcode Cloud is a new continuous integration and delivery cloud service designed specifically for Apple developers. Integrated into Xcode 13, Xcode Cloud provides a fast and easy way for developers and teams of all sizes to build, test, and deliver high-quality apps even more efficiently. Xcode Cloud can automatically build apps in the cloud to free up developers' Macs for other tasks. Parallel testing in the cloud means developers can test on a simulated version of any current Apple device, and then easily deploy a build of the app for internal testing or deliver to external beta testers via TestFlight for immediate feedback.

Apple has previously allowed developers to sign up for the Xcode Cloud waiting list to register. All developers who are account holders in the Apple Developer Program can sign up for Xcode Cloud, but a Mac with the latest beta version of Xcode 13 is required. Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
