Apple today announced that watchOS 9's new Atrial Fibrillation Log feature will be available in more than 100 countries and territories outside the U.S., including Canada, the U.K., other European countries, Hong Kong, Mexico, South Africa, and others. Apple announced that the feature will also be available in Australia starting later this year.
Apple has included this information in the fine print at the end of the press release, announcing the release of watchOS 9 today:
Atrial fibrillation protocol under watchOS 9
The first Atrial Fibrillation Protocol feature in watchOS 9 has received a number of local clearances and approvals from health authorities around the world and will be available in more than 100 countries and territories, including the US, Canada, Europe, Hong Kong, Mexico, South Africa, the UK and more. Atrial Fibrillation Protocol will come to Australia in the fall.
Apple says that people diagnosed with atrial fibrillation can enable the Atrial Fibrillation Log feature to get an estimate of the frequency of this heart rhythm disorder.
