In preparation for the upcoming unveiling of the iPhone 15, Apple has already included the new models in the beta code. Interesting clues about the upcoming iPhones were found in the beta code of tvOS 17.
The digital world is eagerly awaiting Apple's next generation of smartphones. The unveiling of the iPhone 15 is imminent and while the rumor mill is churning, the tvOS 17 beta code may provide valuable information about the unreleased iPhone models. A careful analysis of these findings allows us to make initial guesses about the upcoming innovations.
Unreleased iPhone models and their meaning
The tvOS 17 beta code has revealed some interesting discoveries in the first four versions that could point to new iPhone models. Led by Aaron Four unreleased models were identified: iPhone15.4, iPhone15.5, iPhone16.1 and iPhone16.2. Careful observation of these number sequences, which are usually assigned to chip families, opens up the possibility of drawing conclusions about the future devices. The apparent continuity in the naming of the iPhones - such as the iPhone 14 Pro as "iPhone 15,x" due to its A16 Bionic chip equipment - leads to assumptions that the iPhone 15,4 and iPhone 15,5 will appear as the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Likewise, the iPhone 16,1 and iPhone 16,2 could represent the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. This underlines the potential continuation of the "iPhone15,x" family. Particularly interesting are the names iPhone16.1 and iPhone16.2, which indicate iPhones with a new, previously unreleased chip.
Further discoveries in the code
It is believed that this chip could be the A17 chip, which is based on the advanced 3-nanometer technology. This discovery promises a significant performance boost and could play a key role in the next generation of iPhones. The research also revealed two unreleased models - iPhone14.1 and iPhone14.9 - that are associated with the A15 Bionic chip. While speculation about these models is varied, some interesting theories are emerging. Michael Burkhardt suspectedthat these models could hint at Apple's possible plans to equip the 3rd generation iPhone SE and iPhone 13 mini with USB-C instead of Lightning.
