Apple recently released a brand new iOS app called “Siri Speech Study” to improve its own voice assistant Siri.

Like TechCrunch reported, Apple quietly released the new application on August 9th in the App Store. It allows users to voluntarily send their Siri interactions and feedback to Apple to help the company improve the voice assistant. The app is reportedly available in the US, Canada, Germany, France, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand and Taiwan, among others. However, it does not appear in the Utilities category in which it was released, nor in the App Store charts or via search. This means that the application can only via direct link can be accessed in the App Store.

“Siri Speech Study” app: Siri requests can be submitted individually

Speaking to TechCrunch, Apple confirmed that the app is being used to improve Siri across different products by giving participants a way to share their feedback directly with Apple. The company added, however, that participants must be invited to the study and there is no way for consumers to voluntarily sign up to use the app. According to Cupertino, no participant data is automatically shared with Apple. In fact, users can view a list of all their Siri requests that they have made in the app and then select which of them should be forwarded to Apple with their feedback. User information is not collected and further processed. (Photo by Unsplash / Omid Armin)
