Samsung has now officially introduced three models of the Galaxy S21 series. Improvements have been made to the camera system, processor and more.

It never hurts to take a look at the other camp. What does Samsung have to offer? The new lineup includes three Galaxy models: a 6.2-inch S21, a 6.7-inch S21 Plus and a 6.8-inch S21 Ultra. All three devices feature a Snapdragon 888 or Exynos 2100 chipset, depending on the region, as well as 5G and WiFi 6 support. The S21 and S21+ each have 8 GB of memory, while the S21 Ultra is equipped with 12 GB of RAM.

Samsung uses LTPS display

The Samsung S21 and S21 Plus devices feature high-resolution (FHD) displays and a triple-lens camera setup consisting of two 12MP lenses and a 64MP telephoto lens. The S21 has a 4,000mAh battery while the S21+ offers a 4,800mAh battery. Both are available with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The higher-end Galaxy S21 Ultra offers further improvements, including a low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) display that enables a variable refresh rate of 120Hz. It also has a quad-lens camera with a 108MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide angle and two 10MP zoom lenses with 3x to 10x optical zoom. It is available in configurations with 128GB, 256GB and 512GB of internal storage.

Samsung relies on ultra-wideband technology

Additionally, the S21 Ultra offers S Pen support and a larger 5,000 mAh battery for the first time in a Galaxy S series model. Unlike its two smaller "brothers," the S21 Ultra also supports the faster and improved WiFi 6E standard. The display also offers a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and a contrast ratio of three million to one. Samsung is also introducing further camera improvements across the range. These include 4K and 60 FPS video recording for each camera and updates to the Super Steady stabilization system. Samsung is also touting the new design of the smartphones, which feature a "Countour Cut Camera" housing that sits flush with the device's metal frame. The Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra also support ultra-wideband (UWB), the same technology that powers Apple's iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 range. Although Samsung has introduced a new Smart Tag tracking system for $29.99, it does not have UWB.

Samsung Galaxy S21 series: Bye Bye power supply

Samsung has also taken a leaf out of Apple's iPhone lineup and no longer packs a power adapter in the box. Instead, the S21 comes with a USB-C cable. The company is also reducing the price of the 25W adapter to $19.99, which is the same price as Apple's 20W adapter, which is sold separately. No one thinks otherwise. The color options vary depending on the model. The Samsung Galaxy S21 is available in Phantom Violet, Phantom Gray, Phantom Pink, and Phantom White. The Galaxy S21+ is available in Phantom Violet, Phantom Silver, and Phantom Black. The premium S21 Ultra model is available in Phantom Black and Phantom Silver. Now for the prices and availability, these are as follows:

  • Galaxy S21: 5G, 128 GB, 8 GB RAM in Phantom Gray, Phantom White, Phantom Pink or Phantom Violet – 849 euros
  • Galaxy S21: 5G, 256 GB, 8 GB RAM in Phantom Gray, Phantom White, Phantom Pink or Phantom Violet – 899 euros
  • Galaxy S21+: 5G, 128 GB, 8 GB RAM in Phantom Black, Phantom Silver or Phantom Violet – 1,049 euros
