Pixelmator Photo receives update for iPadOS

The popular image editing software Pixelmator Photo received an adaptation for iPadOS yesterday – some useful features were added as part of the update.

Pixelmator Photo (Download) brings full support for iPadOS in version 1.1. This means that images from storage devices or cameras can now be imported directly into the application. Users also get access to new workflows within the app. Pixelmator Photo costs 5.49 euros in the App Store - the app is only available for iPads (a separate Mac application can be purchased in the Mac App Store). New features

iPadOS 13 support: Enjoy support for iPadOS 13 and the new and improved file browser, as well as support for external storage locations.
Batch Editing: Take advantage of batch editing to automatically edit an entire photo shoot on your iPad with just a few clicks.
A completely new workflow: There are huge (gigantic, even) workflow improvements – you can now edit photos directly in your Photos library or the Files app without having to import them.
Export sizes: When exporting, you can now resize images with the new scaling feature.

Create workflows with actions for color adjustments, cropping, smoothing, exporting, and even resizing images for comprehensive batch editing.
To start batch processing, select multiple photos and tap “Batch Processing” in the toolbar.
Use all of Pixelmator Photo’s adaptive features in your workflows.
Experiment with a range of pre-built batch editing workflows and easily create your own.
To edit images in your Photos library and the Files application, turn off Export.

Completely new workflow

Pixelmator Photo now automatically saves changes directly to the images you open, saving non-destructive edits to a linked .PHOTO file.
This means you can now manage all your edits in your photo collection without having to import images.
Instead of '< Photos' you will now see much more logical Cancel and Finish buttons in the Pixelmator Photo toolbar.
Non-destructive editing also works in the Files application and your changes are automatically saved in JPEGs, PNGs and other compatible formats without losing any non-destructive edits.
If you don't want to save non-destructive changes while still editing images in place, you can switch to destructive editing in the Pixelmator Photo Settings section of the application.
Switch between editing in your Photos library or the Files app by tapping View Photos or View Files on the toolbar.
You can now delete photos directly in the Pixelmator Photo Browser or revert to the original.
To delete linked files while browsing your photo library, tap Select, select one or more photos, then tap Delete Linked File at the bottom of the screen. To delete a linked file while browsing files, tap and hold a file, then tap Delete Linked File.
Added keyboard shortcuts for Cancel (Command-Delete) and Done (Command-S).

The Recents album in the Pixelmator Photo browser should now reflect the contents of your Camera Roll (or All Photos or Recents albums, whichever you have).
Various UI fixes for iPadOS 13 issues.
The new floating keyboard on iPadOS 13 wasn't working properly. Fixed.
Fixes memory management and stability issues.
Tapping to open a document multiple times while it was still open sometimes caused the app to quit unexpectedly. Fixed.
There were issues using the Pixelmator Photo Share extension to share from applications other than Photos.
Sometimes warning messages were not displayed after importing a customization preset. Fixed.
