The launch of the cheaper iPhone is imminent. Apple has now announced details about availability and pre-sales in a press release.
The iPhone Xr will be available in over 50 countries from October 26th. The colorful 6.1" device can be pre-ordered from October 19th. In Germany, the starting price without a mobile phone contract is 849 euros for a 64 GB model. Devices with 128 GB and 256 GB cost 909 euros and 1,019 euros respectively. The iPhone Xr is available in white, black, blue, yellow, coral and (Product) Red. It will be available at launch in Apple Stores and from authorized dealers. The upcoming iPhone can also be found at selected mobile phone providers. Walk-in customers can also try their luck in many Apple Stores. Apple announced this on Wednesday afternoon.

Many analysts assume that the iPhone Xr will be more popular than the iPhone Xs series. This is not only due to the large price difference but also to the features. The colorful iPhone has many of the same functions as its more expensive siblings. The iPhone Xr has a 6.1" screen - this is not OLED but an almost frameless LCD with a notch. The frame of the inexpensive entry-level model is made of aluminum. This is said to be of aerospace quality - according to Apple. Since the back is made of glass, wireless charging is possible. Unlike the iPhone Xs series, it does not have a dual camera.
