According to some rumors, the mass production of the iPhone 9 – better known as the iPhone SE 2 – will start in February, as the device is expected to be released in March. However, there could be disruptions in production.

As many of you know, iPhones are assembled in two large Chinese assembly plants – Foxconn in Zhengzhou and Pegatron near Shanghai. Although both sites are more than 500 kilometers from Wuhan – the epicenter of the coronavirus – there could still be disruptions to production – so Bloomberg. Of course, the report notes that distance does not provide immunity - quite the opposite. Confirmed cases of coronavirus continue to rise in Henan province.

Closure prevents further contamination

The plant in Zhengzhou is in danger of being closed by Foxconn itself or by the government to prevent further contamination. However, according to the report, Foxconn claims that it has measures in place to ensure that it can continue to meet all global production commitments. Bloomberg also writes that Apple sources many of its components from two sources to mitigate the effects of extreme scenarios, such as the coronavirus.

Apple pledges financial support to aid groups

According to this, an impact on the mass production of the iPhone 9 is to be expected, but this should not be so enormous – at least a total failure of the iPhone 9 production is unlikely for the time being. weekend Apple boss Tim Cook has promised donations to organizations and aid groups in China via Twitter. Apple plans to support them financially. Coronaviruses belong to the family of RNA viruses, which also includes well-known cold viruses. However, coronaviruses have a special structure and cause severe lung diseases and acute respiratory infections. (Photo by evgenii mitroshin / Bigstockphoto)

Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
