If manufacturers want to bring new devices onto the market, they must first register them with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

Since the beginning of the year, rumors about the next iPhone generation have been increasing. In recent weeks, these have reached a new high. Now the existence of the iPhone 2019 series has been indirectly confirmed. Apple recently registered eleven different iPhone models in the Eurasian Economic Commission's database under the name "Apple Smartphones". The corresponding model numbers are: A2111, A2160, A2161, A2215, A2216, A2217, A2218, A2219, A2220, A2221 and A2223. The EEC database records all devices that are based on encryption technologies - which means that almost all of Apple's hardware products appear in it at some point. In January, for example, the iPad Air and iPad mini 5 were registered before their official market launch. Sometimes completely unexpected products can be discovered - but not in this case.

Understanding model names

According to speculation, the identifiers A2111, A2161 and A2215 stand for the iPhone XR successor. The others represent the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max. Since the wireless standards differ in some countries, a separate approval is necessary. This could explain the high number of registered model numbers. Another explanation would be a wider selection of device variants this year.

When registering such devices, a software version must of course also be entered; Apple has opted for iOS 12. As always, no further technical specifications can be found in the database. Incidentally, such an entry should not be interpreted as confirmation of a timely market launch. Such processes are completely normal and are carried out several months in advance.

The iPhone 2019 rumors at a glance

The biggest innovation in the iPhone XR 2 is said to be the dual camera known from the iPhone XS. The upcoming iPhone 11 models, on the other hand, will be the first to feature a triple camera in a square design Apple also plans to use bilateral wireless charging in all three models. Users can now charge accessories such as AirPods, Apple Watch or other devices on the back of their iPhone. By using the new feature, all three iPhone 2019 models will be equipped with more Battery capacity The A13 chip will be the heart of the new iPhone generation. The new iPhone models are expected to be introduced in early September.

Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
