The iPad Air 5 supports the Studio Display
The new iPad Air is the only model in the series that supports the brand new Studio Display.
Faster USB-C port
The fourth generation iPad Air has a USB 3.1 Gen 1 port while the new iPad uses Gen 2. This means that this tablet not only transfers data faster, but also has the prerequisites to offer the best experience when connected to an external monitor such as the Studio Display.
5G support but not mmWave
There have been constant rumors that the iPad Air 5 would come with 5G. Unfortunately, just like the iPad mini 6, both products do not support the mmWave band, which means they cannot take advantage of the best 5G available on the market with up to 1GB/s download speeds.
iPad Air 5 increases slightly
Unlike the iPad Pro M1, which is slightly larger than the previous model, the iPad Air is still the same size as its predecessor. On the other hand, this version is slightly heavier: 461 g versus 458 g for the WiFi model and 462 g versus 460 g for the Cellular version.
