The reviews for the new iPad 10 are in. The testers call it a great tablet with many compromises that place it in a strange place in the product range.

Apple announced the 10.9-inch iPad on October 18 in a press release announced. It is seen as a curious addition to the Apple product lineup, according to the first reviews. According to The Verge stuck the new iPad is stuck in the middle with an older processor and an updated design. At its core, the iPad is an excellent tablet with fast performance and reliable battery life. The higher price, coupled with the less premium features, puts the iPad 10 in a difficult position. It's not a laptop replacement - it's a basic iPad for the basics. The accessories add to the confusion, with the expensive Magic Keyboard Folio and confusing Apple Pencil support. Customers may be better off getting a cheap iPad Air instead.

iPad 10: One feature is particularly noteworthy

Engadget says the redesigned iPad is largely worth the higher price. However, there are compromises in accessory support and display technology. The difference in display technology between the iPad Air and the 10.9-inch iPad is smaller than ever, but it's still noticeable. It's easy to overlook the 120Hz refresh rate of the iPad Pro or the laminated display of the premium models. The A14 is powerful, and apps open without lag, even when you're browsing through a library of RAW photos in Lightroom. The most notable performance feature is that the iPad can run fewer apps in the background compared to other iPads with better processors. The price increase isn't good news.

Much praise for the camera in landscape format

But the extra cost is worth it and most people will prefer it to the slightly more expensive iPad Air. CNET saysthat the iPad 10 isn't the iPad for everyone, although it should be. Apple's iPad lineup offers many options, but the perfect combination of features doesn't exist. This updated iPad has almost everything customers want, with USB-C, a landscape FaceTime camera, and a bigger, better display. However, the Apple Pencil requires a weird USB adapter. The landscape selfie camera is "perfect." This feature alone makes this iPad the go-to device over others.

An interesting tablet but not suitable for everyone

The situation with the Apple Pencil is so bad that artists should skip this model. The need for the adapter is questionable, as other iPads use the Apple Pencil 2 and users don't need another adapter on the go. According to Wired, the 10.9-inch iPad used to be a simple and affordable device. But now it's anything but. The higher price, the situation with the Apple Pencil, and the lack of display lamination make it difficult to justify this product over the previous generation. Overall, the new iPad is one of the most interesting tablets but not the best tablet for most people due to the higher price and the Apple Pencil bug. (Image: Apple)
